Pep Guardiola wants to sign Faouzi Ghoulam at Manchester City and bring him to the Premier League, according to Algerian news outlet Le Buteur.
Ghoulam has been in fantastic form this season in Serie A, scoring two goals and recording three assists in seven appearances for Napoli which has helped them reach the top of the Italian table.
The 26-year-old is out of contract in summer 2018, and as a result Napoli may be willing to sell the player in the winter transfer window, in order to avoid losing the Algerian defender for free next year.
Chelsea and Liverpool are also reportedly in the race to sign the left-back, but he is a matter of interest to Manchester City due to the injury to their first-choice left-back Benjamin Mendy who will be out for a considerable amount of time.
He was also linked to Monaco in the summer as a potential replacement for Fabinho, but the latter ended up remaining at the club.
Lucas Alcaraz recently named Faouzi Ghoulam in his squad for the upcoming match vs Cameroon, however after the international break Man City play vs Napoli twice in the Champions League. This will give Guardiola an opportunity to take a closer look at the player.
