Manchester City are still interested in signing Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez, despite missing out on him in the last window. according to the Manchester Evening News.
The current leaders of the Premier League tried to sign him in January after making four bids, but Leicester City refused to sell the 27-year-old to the Citizens.
However, Mahrez looks set to leave the King Power Stadium at the end of the season and Pep Guardiola will reportedly move for him again.
According to the report, Riyad Mahrez remains “of interest” to Man City despite their refusal to sell him in the January transfer window.
Mahrez was said to be a target for Man City two weeks before the deadline shut in January, as they wanted to sign him after missing out on Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United.
The Algerian international has 35 goals in 129 appearances in the Premier League for Leicester City, and was the Player of the Season in 2015/16 as he helped the Foxes to winning the Premier League title.
In the last two transfer windows, Mahrez has handed in a transfer request and not turned up to training as a result. Leicester are currently 8th in the league table and have reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, so there is still plenty to play for this season for Mahrez.
