Premier League side Arsenal are interested in signing Algerian left-back Faouzi Ghoulam, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Napoli defender has been out of action since the autumn, suffering with an ACL injury that he sustained earlier in the season against Manchester City in the Champions League.
Ghoulam signed a new deal at the club in December as his contract was originally running out this summer, but the Gunners reportedly want the 27-year-old to replace Nacho Monreal in the next transfer window.
The rumours come after Arsenal appointed a new head of recruitment, Sven Mislintat, to be in charge of the transfer dealings at the club. He has been tasked with bringing quality talent to the Emirates this summer.
With two goals and five assists this campaign in 17 appearances, the Algerian is most certainly a huge talent and would improve Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger is a big fan of the footballer, who helped Napoli to the top of the Serie A table prior to his injury setback. The North Londoners have a huge Algerian fan base due to the club’s proximity to Finsbury Park.
Ismael Bennacer is the only Algerian international to have ever been at Arsenal, although he never made an appearance for the first team.
