Algeria to face Saudi Arabia in May
Algeria will face Saudi Arabia next month on Wednesday the 9th of May in Cadiz, Spain at the Estadio Ramon de Carranza with kick-off taking place at 6.30pm.
Rabah Madjer has already announced the squad for the match, with all 24 players taking part being selected from the Algerian league, despite the national team manager not attending a single domestic game this calendar year.
Saudi Arabia are preparing for the upcoming World Cup in Russia, which is less than 50 days away, where they will face fellow North African opposition Egypt.
Notable names selected include Essaid Belkalem, who played for Algeria against Germany in the last 16 of the 2014 World Cup, and controversial goalkeeper Faouzi Chaouchi, who is likely to start in goal for the domestic Desert Foxes.
Last month, Algeria lost to fellow Asian side Iran in an international friendly and they will be looking to make amends following that disastrous result. Farouk Chafai has been selected, who scored for Les Verts against Iran in that match.
Lamine Abid has also been included, who is the current top scorer in Algeria with CS Constantine as they look set to win the Algerian league title.
