Algeria’s domestic side have been preparing for their friendly international against Saudi Arabia on Wednesday the 9th of May, with the match taking place in Cadiz.
Rabah Madjer has selected a squad of players that only play in the Algerian league, including the likes of Faouzi Chaouchi and Essaid Belkalem who both have World Cup experience.
However, there were some shock omissions including no place for Oussama Darfalou, Abderrahmane Hachoud or Mohamed Meftah.
Saudi Arabia are preparing for the upcoming World Cup in Russia, which is less than 40 days away, where they will face fellow North African opposition Egypt in the group phase of the competition.
Earlier this year, Algeria lost to fellow Asian side Iran in an international friendly and they will be looking to make amends following that disastrous result. Farouk Chafai has been selected, who scored for Les Verts against Iran in that match.
Lamine Abid has also been included, who is the current top scorer in Algeria with CS Constantine as they look set to win the Algerian league title.
