Manchester City have reopened negotiations with Leicester City for Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez and discussions have begun again, according to the Daily Mail.
Pep Guardiola is still keen on the 27-year-old, and any deal for the 2015/16 Player of the Season will reportedly have to include Patrick Roberts going in the opposite direction.
Mahrez has 13 goals and 13 assists for the Foxes this season, and tried to force a move to the Etihad in the January transfer window. He has handed in two transfer requests within the last year.
The Algerian is desperate to join Manchester City, and a £60m swoop is being reported In the English media.
It is said that Riyad Mahrez’s experience of playing in the Premier League is a big bonus when weighing him up against other potential winger options.
With more goals this season in the league than Bernardo Silva, Leroy Sane and Kevin de Bruyne, he would certainly be knocking on the door for a starting berth in Guardiola’s side.
Following the conclusion of today’s Premier League action, Mahrez may well have played his last game for Leicester City. He has enjoyed a glittering career with them, winning both the Premier League title and the Championship title.
