Riyad Mahrez is close to signing for Premier League champions Manchester City, according to English media outlet Manchester Evening News.
The Algerian is reportedly expected to become Pep Guardiola’s first signing of the summer transfer window, after failing to sign the right winger in January.
Leicester City are now willing to drop their asking price for the 27-year-old, with the Foxes holding out for an unrealistic some of money earlier in the year.
But now a deal seems close with a fair compromise close to being reached between the two clubs. It is understood that Leicester manager Claude Puel does not want to cause any more problems in the dressing room.
Mahrez enjoyed a fine season in the Premier League, finishing as the 10th top scorer 12 goals and 11 assists in 36 league games.
The same agent that brought Carlos Tevez to Man City now represents Riyad Mahrez, and this good relationship with the club should help the deal be completed.
Having tried to force a move in the previous two transfer windows, Mahrez may now finally be on the move and departing the King Power Stadium.
He recently scored at Wembley against Tottenham in his last appearance of the 2017/18 campaign in a thrilling 5-4 defeat.
