Turkish side Fenerbahce keen on Slimani
Turkish team Fenerbahce are interested in signing Algerian striker Islam Slimani from Leicester City, according to Turkish media outlet Sporx.
The 29-year-old, who has just been named in the latest Algeria squad, recently spent some time at Newcastle United on a loan spell where he failed to score for the club. Fenerbache could provide Slimani with European football next season.
Slimani joined English football in 2016 when he became a record signing for Leicester City, but has failed to live up to his price tag at the King Power Stadium.
Scoring 48 goals in 82 league games in Portugal for Sporting, Slimani certainly knows how to find the back of the net when given the correct service as he is lethal in the air.
He also helped Leicester City to the quarter-finals of the Champions League where they remained unbeaten at home throughout their entire European campaign.
They reportedly want to give the Algerian an opportunity to revise his career. Leicester are more inclined to selling Slimani outright, rather than seeing him depart on another loan deal.
Many Algerians have recently made a move to Turkey, such as Sofiane Feghouli at Galatasaray, Nabil Ghilas at Goztepe and Carl Medjani at Sivasspor. Could Slimani be the next?
