Arsenal miss out on young Algerian midfielder Adli

Arsenal have failed to complete the signing of young Algerian midfielder Yacine Zinedine Adli, it has been confirmed.

Adli, who appeared in the final Ligue 1 game of the season for Paris Saint-Germain, is an attacking midfielder with lots of potential.

The 17-year-old, who was born in France, is on the radar for Algeria and eligible to play for the Desert Foxes through his parents.

He was going to sign a three-year deal with the North Londoners after rejecting a professional contract with PSG, and had the option of a two-year extension.

Unai Emery knows the youngster very well, having been his manager and given him his first team debut during his time in charge in the French capital. Emery is said to have a very good knowledge and detailed background of the player and played a big role in trying to convince Adli to sign at the Emirates.

There will be pressure on the Algerian football federation to secure the services of Adli, in a similar way they did in order to get Ismael Bennacer, who also joined Arsenal at a young age.

Young players plying their trade in France such as Houssem Aouar, Maxime Lopez and Amine Gouiri are also in a very similar situation in terms of their international future.
