French champions Paris Saint-Germain have joined the race to sign Algerian defender Faouzi Ghoulam, according to Le 10 Sport.
New manager Thomas Tuchel is reportedly unhappy with the current left-backs at PSG and they have opened enquiries with Napoli for the player.
The Algerian left-back has just missed the majority of last season through serious injury, however Napoli are holding out for over £43million for the 27-year-old.
Ghoulam is an exceptionally talented full-back, who is strong both defensively and offensively. He scored two goals and provided three assists in Serie A prior to the injury setback.
He was brought to Napoli by Rafa Benitez and is widely regarded as one of the best left-backs in world football. Ghoulam also won the 2017 Algerian Player of the Year award and was presented with the trophy from Paolo Maldini at the annual ceremony in Algiers
He has experience playing in France with Saint Etienne, so he would be a valuable addition to their already talented Ligue 1 squad. Atletico Madrid and Manchester United have also been linked in the past few months.
Carlo Ancelotti was recently appointed as the new manager of Napoli so it remains to be seen where his future lies.
