AC Milan are interested in Schalke and Algeria midfielder Nabil Bentaleb, according to Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato.
Bentaleb is reportedly unsettled at the German club, having made just 12 starts during the 2017/18 campaign. He joined the Bundesliga side permanently last summer from Tottenham and helped them finish 2nd, qualifying for the Champions League.
The 23-year-old is being linked with one of the biggest teams in the world. AC Milan have had Algerian footballers before, such as defender Djamel Mesbah. The likes of Faouzi Ghoulam and Adam Ounas currently play in Serie A.
Harry Redknapp discovered the young talent in France and signed him in the Premier League. Bentaleb then helped Algeria reach the last 16 of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, where he was instrumental in central midfield.
Gattuso would be a great manager for Bentaleb, and can certainly work on his aggression and discipline in the midfield. AC Milan have tried to sign him previously, but missed out in both 2016 and 2017.
He recently captained the Algerian national team against Cape Verde, and also started against Portugal in a friendly at the start of the month. With five goals in 25 games for the North Africans, he has been a key member.
