Premier League side Everton are close to agreeing a £13.3m deal for Algerian defender Ramy Bensebaini, according to the Daily Star.
The Algerian international defender, who has a deal with Rennes that runs until summer 2020, helped the French side qualify for the Europa League during the 2017/18 season as they finished in a rather impressive 5th place in Ligue 1.
Bensebaini joined Rennes in 2016, and recently scored his first ever goal for the Algerian national team against Cape Verde a few weeks ago in a friendly match.
Born in Constantine, he came through the ranks at Paradou AC before moving on to football in Europe. His height and well-timed tackles would be a great addition to the Premier League.
He is expected to leave the French side this summer and could become Marco Silva’s first new signing at the club. A versatile player, he can be at left-back or as a central defender.
And now it looks as though his time at Rennes is over, with Stuttgart and Fenerbahce also in the race to earn his signature this transfer window. He has 11 caps for Algeria and featured at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. Follow all the transfer rumours surrounding Algerian footballers on DZ Football this summer.
