Algerian international Hilal Soudani scored the first goal of his competitive Nottingham Forest career as he came on as a substitute to score the winner against Reading in 1-0 victory.
Soudani, who came on as a substitute in the 56th minute replacing Joao Carvalho, made a perfect impact with his first Forest goal after 68 minutes.
The ball fell to him in the box and he finished off superbly with a curled strike to send the fans wild at the City Ground. The result moves them up in the table to five points, and gives Forest their first win of the season.
Having made a great effect on the game, Soudani will be hoping to start matches in future as a regular for Karanka’s team as they push for promotion to the Premier League.
All three of Forest’s goals in the Championship this season have had an involvement from an Algerian international, with Adlene Guedioura assisting in the opening match and then scoring against West Brom in mid-week.
Hopefully the man with the number two shirt can start on a regular basis and score 15-20 goals this season. A massive three points for Forest today will live long in the memory for him.
