Napoli defender Faouzi Ghoulam is of interest to French side Marseille, according to media outlet Tutto Napoli.
The Algerian left-back has just missed the majority of last season through serious injury, however Napoli are keen on holding on to the 27-year-old international defender and unwilling for him to join a European rival.
Ghoulam is an exceptionally talented full-back, who is strong both defensively and offensively. He scored two goals and provided three assists in Serie A prior to the injury setback during last season for the Neapolitans.
He was brought to Napoli by Rafa Benitez and is widely regarded as one of the best left-backs in world football. Ghoulam also won the 2017 Algerian Player of the Year award and was presented with the trophy from Paolo Maldini at the annual ceremony in Algiers
Marseille are not the first club to be linked with Ghoulam this summer. Atletico Madrid have been linked with the player, in addition to French champions PSG as well as fellow Italian side Juventus.
Carlo Ancelotti was recently appointed as the new manager of Napoli so it remains to be seen where his future lies. He has returned to full training following the injury issues and he is looking to be fit at the end of September.
