Premier League side Newcastle United are interested in Algerian youngster Bilal Brahimi, according to France Football.
18-year-0ld Brahimi currently plays for the Middlesbrough U23s, since he signed from Portuguese outfit Leixoes in the summer of 2017. His contract expires at the end of June 2019, which has led to other clubs sniffing around.
The youngster, who was born in France, made his debut for the Middlesbrough first team this season under Tony Pulis in the English League Cup second round, coming on at half-time against lower league Rochdale.
However, Rafa Benitez faces competition from Middlesbrough (who would like to keep hold of him) as well as other European clubs such as Leipzig and Rennes so there is a high demand for him.
Brahimi can play as a forward, whether that be on the wing or as a striker. Newcastle recently signed an Algerian international back in January, when Islam Slimani joined on loan from fellow Premier League side Leicester City. Slimani did not score a single goal during his time at the club.
To have already come through from the academy system to the first team, it is clear that at just 18 years of age, Brahimi has so much potential and could be a star one day.
