Manchester United are interested in a £40million deal for Algerian international Faouzi Ghoulam, according to Radio Kiss Naples.
Napoli left-back Ghoulam has not kicked a ball all season, as he continues to recover from a knee injury that he sustained at the back end of last year against Man City in the Champions League. However, this has not stopped Jose Mourinho’s interest in the 27-year-old.
Ghoulam was named as the Algerian Player of the Year for 2017, and was presented with the award in Algiers by legendary Italy star Paolo Maldini.
Luke Shaw and Ashley Young are the two current choices at left-back for the Red Devils, however it seems that the Old Trafford side reportedly want to bring Ghoulam to the Theatre of Dreams.
Prior to his injury, he scored two goals and recorded three assists in nine Serie A games which sent Napoli to the top of the league table under Maurizio Sarri. Ghoulam is a world class left-back, who possesses qualities both defensively and offensively.
He has been at Napoli since Rafa Benitez brought him to Naples in 2014 from St Etienne and has got better and better. Follow all the Algerian football transfers in English with DZ Football.
