Why Brahimi would be perfect for Arsenal

Arsenal have begun a new era following the departure of Arsene Wenger, and now Unai Emery lies at the helm of club. Although he now manages the Gunners, the majority of the players are not his signings making it difficult for him to fully implement his style.

Many players have been linked with a move to North London in the past six months, but one man who would be perfect at the Emirates for a number of reasons is Algerian winger Yacine Brahimi.

Brahimi has been at FC Porto in Portugal since his impressive showing at the 2014 World Cup. He has been playing regular football in the Champions League, and most recently won the league title this year.

The 28-year-old comes from a country where Arsenal are the most popular British club. Algerians love Arsenal, and Finsbury Park is full of Algerian Gunners as shown by one of the flags in the front row of the main stand.

Arsenal have shown this season that they lack width, coming from a lack of wingers. Yacine Brahimi would be perfect on the left hand side, with his quick dangerous feet and world class dribbling ability. Only Neymar has completed more dribbles in the Champions League this season than him.

The Gunners also lack creativity and Brahimi would also solve this problem as he often ends up with double figures for assists every season in Porto.

In recent weeks, Arsenal have lined up with four central midfielders and two up front due to their lack of wingers at the club. Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been out with injury problems and Alex Iwobi is respectfully not good enough to challenge for the big trophies.

And with the future of Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey under the microscope, Brahimi would create lots of big chances that the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette would finish off clinically.

Furthermore, Brahimi is out of contract in the summer. So Arsenal could get him for a bargain price in January, or even snap him up for free in the summer transfer window.

Everton were extremely close to signing him two years ago, and Arsenal have been linked on multiple occasions. But he is better than the Toffees, and a move to the Gunners would be a huge success for all parties involved.
