Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri wants to reunite with defender Faouzi Ghoulam at Chelsea, according to Tutto Sport in Italy.
Ghoulam, who has recently returned from a year out with injury, has two assists in four Serie A appearances this season after suffering a torn ACL against Manchester City in the Champions League back in November 2017.
Napoli currently value the player at around £30million, however Sarri left on bad terms with Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis who does not want to sell the player under any circumstances.
The 27-year-old has been at Napoli since he was signed by Rafa Benitez from St Etienne a few years ago, and has improved dramatically during his time in Italy.
Sarri has already signed Jorginho from Naples since taking over at Stamford Bridge in the summer. Ghoulam is a fantastic left-back with qualities both defensively and offensively. He helped Algeria to the last 16 of the 2014 World Cup, where the Desert Foxes lost to eventual winners Germany.
Chelsea have never had an Algerian footballer so Ghoulam would make history if he was to make the move to West London. The January transfer window has just opened. Follow all the Algerian football transfers in English with DZ Football.
