Nottingham Forest forward Hillal Soudani is set to miss the rest of the season through injury, DZ Football understands. He was originally expected to return at the end of April, but this period of time on the sidelines has now been extended.
The Algerian international has been out of action since suffering a knock away to Burton Albion in the English League Cup, when he was taken off for Lewis Grabban back in October 2018 with a leg injury.
Soudani has just two goals in only eight appearances for the Championship club since signing from Dinamo Zagreb in the summer. Forest also have fellow Algerian international Adlene Guedioura in their ranks.
We understand that he has suffered a relapse and will head to Qatar for specialist treatment at the Aspire facility. Soudani had been spending time in Serbia and Croatia whilst out injured. It is such a shame as we are yet to see the best of him.
Forest are battling it out for a place in the play-offs and Soudani has not played a single minute under Martin O’Neill. This also means that the 31-year-old from Chlef will miss the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in the summer. Follow all the Algerian football news in English with DZ Football.
