Yacine Brahimi and FC Porto are set to take on Italian side Roma in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League. The first leg takes place in Rome on Tuesday 12th February, with kick off at 8pm.
The Romans, who finished second in their group behind holders Real Madrid, made the semi-finals last season. The furthest Yacine Brahimi has got in the Champions League is the quarter-finals, when Porto were eliminated by Bayern Munich. The 28-year-old has two assists in five games in the competition this season.
Porto won their group, finishing above Schalke, Galatasaray and Lokomotiv Moscow. They are the only Portuguese side left in the tournament, and currently sit top of the table in Liga NOS one point ahead of Benfica.
Roma have been hovering in and out of the top four in Serie A all season, and have lost key players such as Alisson to Liverpool and Nainggolan to Inter. Porto will be without the injured Vincent Aboubakar, but have added experience in the central defence with Pepe, who is a former UCL winner with Real Madrid.
Let’s hope there will be plenty of goals in this one. Follow the game and all the Algerian football news in English with DZ Football.
