Man City winger Riyad Mahrez is being linked with a move away from the Etihad. According to various reports in Italy and Algeria, as reported by The Sun, the 28-year-old is wanted by Serie A giants Juventus.
Mahrez has struggled to make a big impact in Manchester, with just 11 starts in the Premier League this season. The Algerian international was recently hauled off by Pep Guardiola in the 54th minute against West Ham.
However, a move away from Man City seems unlikely with Mahrez contracted until summer 2023 after becoming the club’s record signing last year. He will want to prove his worth at the Man City.
Douglas Costa could move in the opposite direction as part of a potential deal. Juventus currently have the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala in their attack so it is once again difficult to see how Mahrez would fit in.
Many Algerian internationals currently play in Serie A, such as Faouzi Ghoulam, Adam Ounas, Ismael Bennacer and Mohamed Fares. The window opens again in the summer.
Mahrez has been playing in England since January 2014, and has never played in Italy during his football career. Follow all the Algerian football transfers in English with DZ Football.
