German side Schalke 04 will bid £12million for Algerian winger Sofiane Feghouli, according to Turkish news outlet CNN Turk.
The Galatasaray star is one of the most paid players in the Turkish Super Lig. He was most recently called up by Algeria and started the international friendly against Tunisia as a central midfielder which the Desert Foxes won 1-0.
Feghouli will not make any decisions about his future until the summer. He won the Turkish league title last season with Gala, who are also in the title race this current campaign.
The 29-year-old has nine goals and four assists in 30 games this season for the reigning Turkish champions in all competitions. Schalke already have one Algerian international in their squad in the form of Nabil Bentaleb.
Galatasaray actually played against Schalke in this season’s UEFA Champions League, in the group phase. Feghouli has been around Europe already, featuring for the likes of Valencia and West Ham. The Bundesliga would certainly be a step up for Feghouli, and give him another league to test himself in.
Feghouli nearly left Turkey last summer, with the former West Ham winger being previously in advanced talks with clubs in the Middle East. Follow all the Algerian football transfers in English with DZ Football.
