CS Constantine vs Esperance: Match Preview

Algerian champions CS Constantine host Tunisian side Esperance in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League tonight, with kick-off for the first leg at the Mohamed Hamlaoui Stadium at 8pm.

ES Tunis are the reigning champions of Africa’s most prestigious club competition, and have two Algerian players in the form of Youcef Belaili and Tayeb Meziani.

CS Constantine come into this game with star man Hocine Benayada back from suspension. They are the only Algerian club left in the competition.

Originally, the match was going to be played behind closed doors but an appeal has allowed the hosts to let supporters into the stadium. CSC finished 2nd in their group, whilst EST came top of the pile in their one.

Belaili played for Algeria in the recent international break, as he started for the Desert Foxes in a 1-1 draw at home to Gambia in the AFCON 2019 qualifiers. The second leg is next week in Tunisia.

Both clubs are relatively close to each other, with Constantine and Tunis both very close as cities geographically. Just 200 miles separate the teams. You can follow the match with live updates of goals and much more of this Total CAF Champions League match with DZ Football.
