Algeria ready for Mali test before AFCON

Algeria will face Mali in an international friendly at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha, Qatar on Sunday 16th June 2019, with kick-off at 7pm.

It is the final game for the Desert Foxes before the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. Algeria are using this as a game to prepare for their Group C clash against Senegal.

Mali have also qualified for AFCON 2019 and will use this game as a test before they face fellow North African side Tunisia in Group E.

Adam Ounas is an injury doubt after picking up a knock in training whilst in Qatar. Andy Delort is expected to make his debut for the Algerian national team after being called up for the first time. The Montpellier striker has 14 goals this season in Ligue 1.

It will be another chance for the likes of Riyad Mahrez and Yacine Brahimi to get match fit ahead of the tournament in Egypt that starts on June 21st.

Algeria drew their first warm-up game 1-1 against Burundi on Tuesday in the same city. Haris Belkebla will play no part after being sent home for bad behaviour.

The match will not be televised and will be played behind closed doors. Follow the Algerian national team in English all summer with DZ Football.
