Premier League sides Arsenal and Crystal Palace will battle it out to secure the signing of Bilel Hassaini, according to French media outlet Foot Mercato.
Hassaini was born in France to Algerian parents. The 18-year-old currently plays for the youth side of AS Nancy in France. The Gunners would like to place him in their U23 side and give him experience in the youthful competitions, whilst the Eagles are more keen on giving him a chance in the first team.
He is a right winger and has played for France at U17 level. Arsenal have had Algerian youngsters in the past, such as central midfielder Ismael Bennacer. Crystal Palace have also had an Algerian central midfielder previously in the form of Adlene Guedioura.
A similar transfer last summer saw central midfielder Matteo Guendouzi make a move to North London which has accelerated the progression of his footballing career. Unai Emery could develop Hassaini in a similar way.
Either way, a move to the Premier League would certainly be a step up for the player. However, the player’s personal preferred choice is a move to PSG in Ligue 1. Follow all the Algerian football transfers in English this summer with DZ Football.
