Algeria ready for tough Senegal test at AFCON 2019

Algeria will take on Senegal in their second group game at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. The match is once again at the 30th June Stadium in Cairo, and kick off is at 6pm on Thursday 27th June 2019.

Senegal have Sadio Mane back after he served a suspension in the first game. Algeria may bring in Mehdi Abeid and Yacine Brahimi into the starting eleven. The two teams met in the group stages of both AFCON 2015 and AFCON 2017, with the North Africans remaining unbeaten in both.

Riyad Mahrez scored against Senegal at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in the group phase, as well as scoring in the opening game of the current tournament against Kenya so he will be looking to keep up this fine form.

Manager Djamel Belmadi has described the upcoming encounter as a great game but has said it is not decisive. Kenya will take on Tanzania in the other game in the group later on in the night at the same ground.

Both teams are on three points after winning their opening encounters and this game will likely determine the outcome of the group winner for Group C. You can follow the game in English with DZ Football.
