Algeria made it three wins out of three at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations with a 3-0 win over Tanzania, thanks to goals from Islam Slimani and Adam Ounas on Monday night.
Djamel Belmadi made nine changes to the side, which included resting the likes of Riyad Mahrez and Baghdad Bounedjah. Andy Delort made his first start for Algeria. Rais M’Bolhi was the captain.
Islam Slimani got the first goal. After missing a number of chances, he opened the scoring in the 35th minute after being played in by Napoli winger Adam Ounas.
And the roles were reversed soon after. Slimani setup Ounas who made it 2-0 after 39 minutes which put the Desert Foxes in cruise control.
Soon after on the stroke of half-time, Slimani setup Ounas once again to make it 3-0 after he went round the Tanzania goalkeeper to slot the ball into an empty net. In the second half, Algeria looked comfortable. Andy Delort looked really good. Adlene Guedioura came on in the second half to let Ismael Bennacer have a rest.
Algeria’s last 16 game is next which takes place on Sunday 7th July at 8pm. You can follow every step of Algeria at AFCON 2019 in English this summer with DZ Football.
