Algeria manager Djamel Belmadi has announced a 23-man squad for the upcoming international break. The Desert Foxes are expected to face Benin in Blida on September 6th.
Man City star Riyad Mahrez is in the squad, as the North Africans will play their first game since being crowned champions of Africa.
Islam Slimani, who is on loan from Leicester City at Monaco, is also included in the squad. The three goalkeepers are the same as AFCON 2019, with Rais M’Bolhi, Azzedine Doukha and Alexandre Oukidja making up the numbers.
Ilyes Chetti and Hocine Benayada are called into the defence to replace the injured Mohamed Fares and Mehdi Zeffane, who is currently a free agent.
There are returns for Said Benrahma and Zinedine Ferhat after both players were not taken to Egypt for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. Adlene Guedioura and Yacine Brahimi are both included following their transfers to the Qatari League.
Baghdad Bounedjah, Andy Delort and Islam Slimani are the forwards for the squad. Hichem Boudaoui has been dropped from the squad, whilst there is also no place for Adam Ounas.
