Yasser Larouci set for Liverpool first team

Algerian youngster Yasser Larouci is set to be named in the Liverpool first team squad for the first time in his career.

The 18-year-old has featured under Jurgen Klopp in friendlies, but never in a competitive fixture. He will be given the number 70 shirt.

Liverpool will be using only academy players for their English League Cup quarter-final against Liverpool.

However, Larouci is carrying a minor injury which means he is only expected to be named on the bench. In the unlikely case that he does start, he would play in the left-back position.

Liverpool have flown the main squad out to Qatar ahead of the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup. Follow all the Algerian football news in English with DZ Football.
