Premier League sides Aston Villa and Everton have joined the race to sign Algeria midfielder Nabil Bentaleb, according to The Times.
Bentaleb is keen on a return to the Premier League after a stint with Tottenham under Mauricio Pochettino, with Crystal Palace already registering their interest.
The central midfielder has not started a game all season with Schalke, but now Villa and Everton are reportedly very keen to sign the 25-year-old. He is resuming full training after undergoing major surgery in the summer.
He helped Algeria reach the last 16 of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Dean Smith is looking at midfield options after John McGinn was ruled out for a while. Carlo Ancelotti is also looking for reinforcements.
